The Footstool

Once finished the chair I was considering making little socks or monster shoes for the little legs of the chair. The legs reminded me of the little footstool in Beauty and the Best, and how it moved and danced around when it came alive. I made some sketches of the chair with footstool...

I thought it might hard to find a footstool that would have features and legs that would match the chair, however when I walked into the British Heart Foundation, where I found the chair, there was a little footstool placed in the front of the store, that matched perfectly.

I continued with the chunky natural wool, using the e-wrapping technique, like on the lamp and the chair.

Adding teeth beads, and monster eyes, short tassels and tinsel.

The Throw

The throw was a small addition to the collection, I had enough yarn left to continue with the chunky wool e-wrapping and I wanted to bring out the zebra cacti from the chair. By using black and white stripes placed alternately to the e-wrapping. It creates a bold contrast which I felt was really strong, and really brought out the zebra striped cacti.

The red feather yarn and natural wool once steamed gives a softer feel, however it still maintains the slightly scratchey feel of the chair.

Finished CactEye Footstool and throw ...
