The Cact-Eye Chair is aiming to be sensory not only with its sculptural knitting, uv and textural yarns, but also through the stuffing of the chair. I am using the fabric to emphasise certain areas of the chair and to create a different framework - a more cacti framework.

The chunky, e-wrapped wool will be stuffed with fabric tubes that are stuffed with either beans, lentils, recycled stuffing and wadding. This is aiming to create multiple textures and sensations when someone sits down or feels around the surface of the chair.

The cacti monsters, big and small will be stuffed with pompoms. Some glitter to use as little spikes, and some fluffy to create a fuzzy effect.

Its not aiming to be unpleasant, but a bit awkward and unusual, like you just cant quite get comfortable,

The cacti placed on the arms of the chair I intend to bead; to add more decoration to the chair but also to add another texture for someone to feel with their arms and hands while they sit.
