The Cact-Eye Chair

When drawing up designs of how I'd imagine the cacti-eye chair to look including the knitted cover and the chair itself, it was something quite big in size and almost throne-like. A vintage arm chair which could appear intimating. Something which someone could sink into and feel like they've reached the depth of the forest.

I FOUND IT!

Using online resources to look for vintage and second hand chairs I had a good idea of what I was looking for, however I had some trouble finding something that was in my price range and accessible from Nottingham. Luckily for me, Nottingham has many second hand stores across the city which I began to explore. It only took two stops before I found exactly what I had envisioned...Thank you British Heart Foundation, not only for the chair but for letting my haggle and take it at £35.

It couldn't have been better for what I had imagined. I was absolutely delighted, the flat panels coming from the back and the legs and allow for extra details, and were also exactly as I had sketched myself. The chair itself is quite large and spacious for sitting in which does allow for development of large partially knitted cacti, as well as the concept of feeling like your sinking into the forest when sitting down. The padding is very soft but I would need to look for alternative stuffing that would allow for more 'sinking' rather than being soft and offering comfort.
