TEMPLE TILING TO PUNCHCARD PATTERNS

My samples to date have focused heavily on yarn experimentation and technique. I have only recently begun to develop and consider pattern in my work. My usual practice is to refer back to my primary research, which in this case is of photographs taken in Southeast Asia. Looking at both small and large details found within them I have a lot of inspiration to explore. Below are some photographs taken of my sketchbook pages and how those details have been translated into samples.

My experimentation with punchcards has been limited to date however this is something I will be developing over the next couple of weeks. I have become aware of how many options one punchcard can give you, simple alterations to the settings on the domestic can give you a totally different outcome. I am very much excited to develop this and really grasp what can be done.
