The 12x monsters for the outside cover of the lantern have been knitted as 6 colour jacquards.

YARN : Cashwool 2/30s, merino wool 2/28's, glitter lurex

The monsters have been knitted on 2 different scales. The pieces around the top and the bottom of the lantern are going to be shaped so the monsters are slightly smaller as I didnt want to cut any of the motif away. The four larger monsters are 60 by 60 squares.

The lantern is aiming to offer a sensory overload, the decorative details are really important and I need to allow time for this. - bells - beading - ruffles - sari sashes - tassels

I have begun beading the monster eyes, the four larger pieces which will be placed around the centre of lantern, 4 pieces = 28 eyes, 7 eyes per piece. Trying to bead all the monster eyes will be too time consuming and may not be achievable, to avoid having anything appear obviously unfinished I am just aiming to complete the 4 pieces.
