DECORATIVE DETAILS

My photographs focus on a lot on decorative details, throughout Southeast Asia the streets were decorated with tassels, ruffles, neon lights, posters, lanterns etc. Inspiration for the decoration on my samples and final outcomes will be taken from these but also from the costume design from the street festival of the Hungry Ghost.

Some more literal translations like monster eyes and monster teeth beads, shown above, will be used throughout the collection but more specific decorative details will be explored for each part of the story.

- The cacti chair will focus more on beading and stuffing

- The free standing lamp will have long ombre dyed tassels and beading on the cacti base

- The huge lantern will have long tassels with bells on, decorative trims, ruffles and beading

- The small lanterns will be more decorative with beads and embellishment and the seat will involve more textural yarn decoration
